OUR STORY
Founded in October 2018, Apparition began as a personal exploration of a new craft. What started with a simple curiosity for wire-weaving blossomed into a mastery of intricate chainmaille.
We officially launched our first website in 2019 and soon reached a wider audience through platforms like Takealot, Zando, and Hello Pretty, as well as curated local boutiques like Deviant South.
The year 2021 marked a major milestone with the release of our first ready-to-wear apparel and swimwear collection. This growth eventually led to our 2023 relaunch as Apparition Atelier. Today, we continue to bridge the gap between art and attire, evolving from a jewellery studio into a full-scale creative house, where we now also include handcrafted homeware and more.
BEHIND THE BRAND
Hi! I'm Kristin. I started Apparition, and I'm the one who makes all of the items you'll see on this website. Actually, I put the whole site together myself too!

Apparition has been my passion since 2018 and I've learned so many skills since then - all self taught.
Being creative was something encouraged since a very young age. I did piano lessons since 2nd grade, and I also started dance in primary school - both of which I did well into high school, completing exams and many performances. I also took on drama, guitar, drummies, cheerleading, and other extra-curriculars.
I went on to do a Diploma in Dressmaking, a Certificate in Fashion Merchandising, and then a BSc in Computer Science.
Even after pursuing a more technical degree and career, the more creative path called me back.​​
One of the highlights of this journey is when Apparition launched it's first ready-to-wear range of apparel. This was a dream that was years in the making, and it was incredible to see it happen. There's so many more ideas and designs in my sketchpad that hopefully will be brought to life here!
These days my focus, apart from Apparition, has been on the true-crime & paranormal podcast that I host. I also do tribal fusion belly dance and still try to pursue music where I can.
